Pleasure and Happiness
Happiness seems to be a mental prospect to pleasure. Pleasure itself is associated with physiological interactions involve chemicals including hormones and neurotransmitters. There are glands and neurons involved in a pleasurable activity. Interesting is that possibly the happiness is associated with release of other type of chemicals from glands and neurones. Therefore there are other brain centres involved in happiness phenomenon.Buddhism articulate that pleasure leads to misery. The symptoms of extreme condition of pleasure could be observed by studying the people who have been experiencing excessive pleasure of a long time. To have a good view about the signs of extreme pleasure you could target a specific vacation place like Ibiza. In some resident of these places the changes in body structure and face proportions are obvious. Evidently the internal organs have even more transformations – too much of drugs, alcohol, voyeurism, smoking, laud music, sex, sunbathing, frustrations and other psychological consequences, have changed them to weird creature – their faces frighten children. Lack of education and learning forces them into an illusory world with abnormal beliefs and attitudes for life. Normally extreme conditions of pleasure have external and internal effects – for example, eating too much can cause serious obesity (observable), and heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and so on ( rather hidden) .Of course the philosophy does not guarantee the lifestyle – even people with quite defensive ideology could practice the same lifestyle in private.Buddhists believe that eliminating the craving to pleasure direct to the real happiness. Interesting is that while pleasure leads to misery, physiologically, the inhibition of pleasure leads to depression as well. Medical science has confirmed that any type of pleasure is associated to release of specific chemical(s) from some identified glands or neurons (known internal glands or brain centres). Exceed of lack of these chemicals have a sound effect on balance of health and behaviour. In fact, pleasure has its own biological functions: maintenance and survival of the organism.
