Pushing Over Barriers
The first important step to move forward is recognising a goal. Without a goal we cannot find any specific direction to anywhere. Remember the story of Alice’s adventures in Wonderland, in conversation between Alice and the Magic Cat:“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.“I don’t much care where…” said Alice.“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go!” said the Cat.“…so long as I get somewhere…” Alice added as an explanation.“Oh, you’re sure to do that,” said the Cat, “if you only walk long enough.”Therefore the same way, without any specified goal, we cannot find the right direction to move forward. Even for a running away from any miserable condition that we may be in, there is a big possibility, that we just move round and round back to the same position again and again. Therefore, if you are waiting for anything to happen quite randomly, you may wait for a long time to achieve the desired prospect. On the other hand, in a very serious condition, waiting for rather rare and random event seems to be unreasonable or illogical.
